PowerEXPORT Overview
Use your PowerFLOW results in coupled simulations...
PowerEXPORT is used to transfer PowerFLOW surface results to structural analysis applications like ABAQUS, NASTRAN, and RadTherm. PowerEXPORT enables the results from PowerFLOW to be used as boundary conditions or loads in subsequent structural and heat transfer analyses.
With PowerEXPORT, you can map a fluid variable (for example, pressure) at the wetted surface from the PowerFLOW mesh to a target mesh. PowerEXPORT can accommodate models with different surface meshes, different coordinate systems, and different units.
PowerEXPORT has a graphics window that allows you to view both the PowerFLOW surface measurement mesh (a.k.a. the PowerFLOW measurement surfels) and the target mesh. A set of tools is provided that allow you to align the two meshes prior to performing the mapping operation.
You can view a fluid variable as an image on the measurement surfels, and also view the result of mapping that variable as an image on the target mesh. This provides a graphical means to verify that the mapping was performed correctly. Once the mapping is complete, the fluid variable can be exported in a format appropriate for the target application.
The following summarizes the salient features of PowerEXPORT:
- Import target meshes from NASTRAN, ABAQUS, and RadTherm neutral files.
- Map interpolate fluid variables from a PowerFLOW simulation to the target mesh.
- Export mapped fluid variables as boundary conditions and loads in NASTRAN, ABAQUS, RadTherm, and SYSNOISE format.
- Export fluid variables in a generic ASCII format.
