PowerPREP Overview

PowerPREP is an interactive graphical mesh tool that allows you to perform quality checks on a surface mesh to verify suitability for importing into PowerCASE. You can edit and repair mesh problems that are discovered. Also, PowerPREP allows you to decimate a mesh, which reduces the number of facets in the mesh while retaining key attributes of the original shape. Decimation can also be used to add and redistribute facets for parts exported from CAD directly to STL.

Key Features

  • Import facetized geometries in ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN, PATRAN and STL formats
  • Perform mesh quality assessment
  • Obtain geometric information of the mesh
  • Geometric modifications
  • Decimation to reduce total facet count
  • Export mesh for importing into PowerCASE
  • Complete scripting capability
